FMB MEETING OF NOV. 19, 1988

Dear Neighbor:

This is a short summary of last Saturday's five hour meeting. We started at 8am and finished about 1pm. Thanks to Ursula Hendricks, of the Special Events Committee, coffee and assorted pastries and fruit were ready at 10:15 for all attending the meeting.

Our attorney, Christopher Miner was the first speaker on our agenda. We are trying to have all home owners be more charitable towards one another and their committee and facilities management board representatives. Legal costs have risen sharply due to the need of Sea Pines to defend itself against legal action started by home owners, this new trend must be stopped. A committee has been formed to study the clarification of some rules and regulations.

The FMB passed the following new rule on Sat, Nov. 19, 1988: "No exterior alterations may be made to any unit at Sea Pines with the exception of skylights". Variance forms are necessary for all changes. These may be obtained from any member of the Grounds Committee. Please remember, this committee volunteers countless hours to improve and maintain the beauty of Sea Pines. We should all have appreciation and respect for their diligent work and try to co-operate with them.

The police, fire and rescue departments have for years been perplexed by our house numbering system and have asked Sea Pines repeatedly to change systems to conform to Town methods of numbering. Our numbering committee has done an excellent job and the FMB has approved the outlined plan. The yearly directory from the managing agent will show your old and new number. For security reasons the time you are at Sea Pines will not be published but kept on file for our managing agent and the maintenance department. No change will be needed on your deed at the registry according to our numbering committee. Please verify this with your attorney if this concerns you, The necessary people will be notified - fire, police, rescue, post office and town offices by Sea Pines. Our committee is working closely with fire and police department on this project. The system will be installed slowly with house numbers being done first.

Most of our meeting was spent working on the budget for 1989. Final cuts and changes will be made at the next FMB meeting on December 3.

Sincerely,
