SEA PINES NEWS

October 4, 1994

I have received many inquiries regarding the early closing of the pool this year. It was a combination of vandalism to the filtering system, and misunderstanding on the timing with the managing agent. In the future the FMB will as in the past decide the closing date of the pool.

Except for the snow removal account we should be very close to our expenditure projections for 1994.

The repairs to 18 Friendship have been completed except landscaping. The grounds and maintenance committee feels that the project will come in below original estimates.

Our first look at the 1995 budget does show a sizable increase and some committees have not submitted their "wish lists" to Mercantile. Kevin must receive them by October 20 or they will be considered!

The Phase I Board requested that a committee be formed to investigate its perceived feeling of inequities in the apportionment of maintenance fee assessments. The FMB voted to not allow such a committee to be formed.

It is very gratifying to me personally that so many homeowners turned out for the preliminary I 995 budget run through. Your comments are very important to us and we need your continued input as the process continues.

Even the most harmonious group of people sometimes has disagreements and the FMB is no different. Everyone should realize that every member of the FMB has the best interest of the entire Sea Pines community as its first priority.

Our next FMB meeting will be Saturday, October 29, 1994 at 8:30am in the clubhouse. The entire board hopes to see all of you there!

Best regards,

Richard N. Rose, Chairman - FMB
