SEA PINES HOMEOWNER ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER

July 25, 1996

Dear Neighbors:

Forgive me for letting so many weeks go by before addressing you as the new FMB Chairman. I have had an opportunity to speak to many of you at the beach or by the tennis courts over the last month and sincerely thank you all for your words of encouragement.

Marianne and I entertained friends last weekend who "happened to be in the neighborhood" looking to buy a vacation home on the Cape. Sea Pines, they said, was the best maintained condominium development they had seen. I believe an important reason for this is an extraordinary tradition of homeowner involvement at Sea Pines. A large number of you have, over many years, put your particular talents and expertise to work for the benefit of our community, and it shows.

The task of the FMB is to provide for the continued maintenance of Sea Pines' homes and amenities. This work obviously involves finance and management components. It also requires continuing our tradition of homeowner involvement.

I encourage all of you to attend the monthly meetings of your Board. Come, certainly, to speak or to be informed about a particular matter that concerns you. But please come away with an appreciation of the involvement of others and some thought of what particular expertise you might have to offer. Dates of the future meetings are as follows: July 27, Aug 31, Sep 28, Oct 26, Dec 7.

All meetings take place in the Clubhouse at 8:30am.

Sincerely,

Joe Herlihy
FMB Chairman
