Spring 2003

Grounds & Maintenance Committee Report
WHAT A WINTER this has been! SavATree has been pruning even as the snow still flies in April. Several days were spent pruning limbs off of roofs and over 25 dead trees were cut down.

Whitten Landscaping began their spring cleanup last month (March). Whitten Landscaping, Inc. has been awarded the contract to maintain our grounds for this year, with an option for 2004 and we are looking forward to better results now that the company has had a year of experience under its belt.

The children's play area will receive a facelift this spring.

Parking
Just a reminder: An owner is entitled to one open space in the parking areas, plus any roofed space assigned. If an owner has more than two vehicles or uses his covered space for storage, all additional vehicles should be parked in the places at the clubhouse.

PROGRESS ON THE DISPUTE WITH THE CONSERVATION COMMISSION

What's Happening on the Bluff
Arlene Wilson spoke on behalf of Sea Pines Homeowners' Association at the April 1 meeting of the Brewster Conservation Commission. The next meeting for our NOI will be May 15, when the Commission would like to see a more detailed plan than has been presented to date.

In the interim, Arlene Wilson will be meeting with Seth Wilkinson, Brewster Conservation Administrator.

Chimney Repair
The contractor, Structural Preservation System, will be returning the week of April 28 The work will be 7 chimneys in Friendship Lane and 13 chimneys in Grove Lane.

In addition, the ten new caps will be installed in landing Lane. This work will take approximately 90 days to complete.

Fireplace Cleaning
Each year you should have your chimney flue inspected and cleaned, if you use your fireplace. The work on the exterior chimneys does not include the inspection of your flue.

Bird Feeders
Although they are meant for birds, they attract rodents, raccoons, skunks and coyotes. Please do not put out a bird feeder.
