Sea Pines Homeowners Association Monthly News

June 2, 2005

Dear Neighbor,

The FMB meeting was held on May 28, 2005.

The treasurer reported that in spite of an overage of $12,000 in snow removal, we are still on target to meet our FY 2005 budget projections.

The Grounds and Maintenance Committee reported that we will be installing a handicap parking space at the beach as well a one at the pool. Paving of the clubhouse area will be done the first week in June. The new speed hump will be installed between Landing Lane and the Clubhouse. This will require drivers to keep within the Sea Pines 15 MPH speed limit. People who speed over the new speed hump will only do it once!

The bluff committee reported that there will be a meeting of the Brewster Conservation Committee on June 7 . At that time they will act (hopefully) on our request for an amendment to the order of conditions allowing us to begin removal of invasive species from the non view corridor areas of the bluff. We are also requesting permission for a second cutting to be done in July.

By now you should have received the draft of the proposed by-law revisions. It is our hope that the homeowners from each phase will vote for these revisions at a time to be determined (before the end of the year). Any questions on these may be made to Frank Pease at email address bylaws@seapinesbrewster.com

Legal Corner: Both parties in the abutter issue have agreed to mediation. A mediator will be selected and hopefully will be mediated before the end of the summer. There is a pre-trial conference set on the homeowner who converted garage into living space scheduled for July 5, 2005.

Reasonable Rule of the Month: The writer of the news letter should have it posted within a few days of the FMB meeting. I apologize for not providing one from the April meeting and will do my best to not repeat this omission.

The next FMB meeting will be Saturday June 25 at 8:30am in the clubhouse. Summer will be here and alas once again we have had no spring!
