Sea Pines Homeowners Association Monthly News - Special Parking Issue

June 29, 2005

Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to summer at Sea Pines. Parking is a problem for the next two months. We can all minimize the inconvenience to our neighbors by being considerate. If you, your family, and your guests are taking up two or more spaces and your garage is empty, "You should be ashamed of yourself." If everyone who has a garage uses it the situation will improve tremendously. Let's all try to be good neighbors.

The regular FMB Board meeting was held on Saturday June 25. A moment of silence was observed for the passing of Milt Powers, a long time resident and long time board member, and for Mike Lubash our former maintenance manager who devoted fifteen years to the homeowners at Sea Pines. Both will be sincerely missed.

The Phase 3 board held a special meeting prior to the FMB meeting to decide if they were to hire their own co-counsel to represent Phase 3 in the still unscheduled mediation with the abutters. They voted to not have their own representation.

The Treasurers report shows that we are still on target to meet our budget goals for the current fiscal year.

The Bluff committee reported that the Brewster Conservation Committee agreed to allow us to amend the current order of conditions allowing a second cutting in July/August as well as allowing us to remove invasive species from the entire bluff. This will be done over time as budgeted money allows.

Grounds and Maintenance reported that the new Speed Hump is in but was not what we expected. It has been corrected by the asphalt contractor this week. Slow down for the hump! Irrigation will be put in the unsprinkled areas in Landing Lane and the Grove this year while other areas will be done next year.

By-laws chairman Frank Pease reported only one question was received. The committee will incorporate the suggestion and a finished document should be available during the summer

The Brewster Ladies Library made the meeting room available to us at no charge. The FMB voted to donate $300 to the library as a way of thanking them for their generosity.

The new committee chairs should be posted in the clubhouse by the time you read this letter. Please take an interest and get involved. It's the volunteers who donate so much of their time that make Sea Pines the special place it is.

The next FMB Board meeting will be held on Saturday July 30 at 8:30am in the clubhouse. We look forward to no parking complaints.

Richard Rose, for the FMB.
