Sea Pines Homeowners Association Newsletter

October 10, 2015

Dear Neighbors,

Columbus Day weekend is here and things have definitely slooooowed way down. It's a lovely weekend, cool, crisp, sunny (at the moment anyway.) Terri and I braved the stiff but warm southerly winds yesterday and had our last lobster roll of the season at Sesuit Harbor Cafe. Yummy!! Then dinner with Sea Pines friends last night and tonight followed by watching the Patriot-Dallas football game on Sunday. Go Pats! We certainly enjoy Sea Pines during the summer but for Terri and me, the shoulder seasons at Sea Pines are our true favorites. Winter not so much (let's face it - not at all), but we put up with it for the delightful rest of the year.

This weekend is your last chance warning:

If you would like to reserve the Clubhouse during the off-season, please contact Joe Hintz from November through April. His contact information is in the homeowner directory and on the web site. From May through October, contact Marcia Nugent.

The repaving of Sea Pines Drive from Rt 6A to just past the speed "hump" was completed on Thursday. Sure looks nice and is certainly less bumpy.

Things will be rather quiet now and not just because of the change of seasons. For the first time in a few years, there will be no planned major construction going on during the winter or next spring, since the shingling projects have been completed. Yippee!! The next major projects I can see coming are the continued restructuring of the Clubhouse and the rehab of the tennis courts. These are just now being discussed at FMB - no decisions have been made.

Many people who signed up for the energy efficiency program have had it completed. More will be done in a second phase next spring. The free street lights are still a work in progress.

The next FMB has been rescheduled to Saturday November 7 at 8:30am from October 31. After that, they are December 5, January 30 and March 26 (the Feb meeting is almost always cancelled.) Watch the web site for any changes.

Happy Halloween and Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Christopher Wroten
