SEA PINES HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION

October 19, 1988

Dear Sea Pines Neighbor:

The following is a brief summary of the FMB Meeting held on Saturday, October 15, 1988.

The Grounds and Maintenance Committee reported on a full agenda of work. A new, much needed sidewalk was laid by Mike at the entrance to the Clubhouse, the landscapers are in the process of doing further pruning, road repair is underway, bids are out for repair on chimneys, the Board approved an expenditure for improving the drainage at one unit in the Hollow, tie work and deck repairs are on the agenda, and you should have received your letter regarding winterizing your unit. Please respond immediately to this request regarding your winterizing plan.

Lillian Sheehan, with the assistance of Carol Smith, presented a thorough report on the Town of Brewster's residence numbering system for Sea Pines. There is concern that present numbering is not in compliance with police/fire information and that in the case of emergency it is difficult to find a household. This has been a persistent problem and a solution is felt necessary. A committee of Vera Fields, Carol Smith, and Bob Sheils will further study the inherent problems of any change plus costs for such items as new signs, new house numbers, and new mail boxes. They will make recommendations to the Board.

The management agent's contract for 1989 was approved by the Board with some minor changes.

At the next meeting Bob Grogan for the Finance Committee will present a proposal for a new fee to be established for delinquent home owner accounts. An increasing number of persons are not paying their fees on time and this causes financial concerns for the association. Please pay your maintenance fee on the due date, the first of each month.

Com Edison's work on new wiring is complete. There will be a brief (2-4 hour) turn-off of power within the next two weeks when the new power system is put into operation. Home owners should receive a notice of the date.

Budget requests from Committees were received, The budget for 1989 will be discussed at the next meeting of the FMB on November 19, 1988.

Sea Pines looks serene and beautiful with its touch of fall colors, empty beach, and quiet areas on this lovely Indian summer day in October - to me one of the perfect times at the Cape!

Greetings from Bernie and Mary who are off on a trip to the midwest.
