SEA PINES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

August 2, 1989

Dear Homeowner:

I regret you have received so many pieces of paper from me in the last few weeks. I hope we have straightened out our mailing needs with the new management so you will not be bombarded all at once again. Please do read the updated Rules and Regulations. Leave them for your guests and renters. These policies do help us function and maintain the ambience at Sea Pines.

Also, please return your ballot for the By-Law changes. We need 75% of the homeowners in each phase to respond for a By-Law change.

On Saturday, July 29, the Facilities Management Board met in the Clubhouse. The Grounds and Maintenance Committee reported that the trailer used for dumping debris will soon be back in use. The large amount of limbs seen around the dumpster will be removed. A financial report, the six months budget report, was delayed due to lack of communication with the Treasurer by the management. Bob Grogan (Treasurer), John Panagako (Manager) and Betty Ann Liddle (Chair, FMB) will be meeting immediately and will report at the next Board Meeting (August 26).

A Management Study Committee was appointed in June consisting of Burnell Stehman, Allan Hendricks, and George Malone. With the rapid change in management firms at Sea Pines, this seemed appropriate. Several years ago, Burnie chaired a committee that studied the process of selecting a management concern and duly reported the findings to the Board. The new Committee has put this knowledge into action and we are now in a procedure of research, advertising, accepting proposals, seeking bids and will be interviewing for management at Sea Pines. The present management, CMA Inc, will be encouraged to present a proposal. With a careful timetable laid out, the Board expects to receive recommendations from the Committee by early September. Notification of any change in management must be made no later than November 1 to the present management. The Committee members are to be commended f or the careful and systematic preparation they have made and their commitment to continued excellence in services at Sea Pines, The FMB and other officers and committee members are fully involved in this ongoing process. If you have any questions, contact me or a member of the Committee.

Thank you for your consistent support. One warning - turn off your water valve when you complete a washing. Hoses are getting old and cannot stand the pressure.

Have a great August at Sea Pines.

Betty Ann Liddle
Chair, FMB
