Dear Neighbor:
The heat wave exists every place except Sea Pines. Those cool breezes, coming off the bay, are very refreshing. I haven't even turned on my air conditioning yet this year.
Our "Communication" theme is starting to work. Three of the four condominiums at Sea Pines held "open forum" meetings for all homeowners. Also, many private discussions have been held informally at the beach and on Sea Pines Drive. We are becoming objectively concerned, right?
Our monthly Board meeting was held at the clubhouse on July 29, 1995. It was lengthy because a lot of subjects were discussed by Board members and attending homeowners; some resolved, some not, however, we're talking!
Some of the highlights are as follows:
- Several CDs will mature, that make up our general fund investment, next month. Our finance committee has recommended a diversified variety of investments that have a higher return. Their proposal was approved with semi-annual reporting.
- Sea Pines sweatshirts have been ordered.
- A homeowner asked that established walkways be used in our common area rather than create paths that infringe on homeowner privacy.
- Asphalt repair on Sea Pines Drive has been completed.
- Professional trimming of vegetation on the Dunes will be scheduled twice during the summer. Private trimming is prohibited, since it could result in Conservation Commission penalties.
- Grass cutting will not be scheduled when the temperature is forecast to be above 900 to prevent fungus growth.
- The clubhouse front walk is being considered for replacement soon.
- Homeowners should call our Managing Agent, Mercantile Property Management, to report problems (1-800-696-9449).
- Claims to the master insurance policy must be reduced or it may not be renewed. The per loss deductible has increased to $5,000. Suggestions will be sent out this fall to aid in this cause.
Please contact your Board members if you have any concerns.
Enjoy!
