Dear Neighbors:
At the Facilities Management Board's January meeting contracts for rubbish removal, landscaping and the Phase I painting were reviewed and approved. In addition, the dates for Board meetings over the coming months were set and are as follows:
- February 22
- March 29
- April 26
- May 24
The date of the annual meeting for Sea Pines Homeowners will be Sunday, May 25, 1997. More detailed information will be forwarded to you about this meeting as the date approaches.
A few matters were raised at the January meeting that are of general importance:
- Replacement doors. Homeowners looking to replace doors and storm doors should check with Mercantile Property Management for the names of the models used at Sea Pines and the local retailers who stock them. We have become aware of one instance where a retailer incorrectly told an owner that the appropriate door was no longer available.
- Rentals. The time is fast approaching when vacationers arrange for summer rentals. All homeowners should be aware that under Sea Pines rules and regulations, units may not be rented for less than one month, or more often than once in each calendar quarter. In addition, all rentals must be approved in advance by the FMB. The purpose of these rules is to preserve the owner-occupied look and feel (as well as values) of Sea Pines. While the requirement of FMB approval may seem burdensome to a few, among the vast majority of Sea Pines owners who comply with the rental restrictions, it is essential to effective enforcement.
