Sea Pines Homeowners Association Newsletter

May 12, 2012

Dear Neighbors,

Darn, siding decisions are hard to make. It is such a potentially large expense and a potential change of appearance. At the April 28 FMB, the idea about simply doing aggressive spot replacement of the existing siding seemed to take a back seat in favor of replacing all the siding so that issues under the siding can be determined and addressed, as was done with the Bluff siding replacement project. But replacing it with what material is the hard part. Input on the material to be used will be solicited at the Annual Meeting.

The renovation of the Clubhouse bathrooms is underway and will be complete before Memorial Day. They will look clean and nice but will not look like the results of a 'Bath Crashers' episode on HGTV.

The concrete blocks on the upper beach path were in poor condition and have been replaced with patio blocks like those used at the pool.

The new plantings on Grove Lane have been completed as part of the 5 year painting cycle.

In February, Sea Pines won the latest appeal in our abutter's law suit concerning his beach easement rights. However, the abutter can make a final appeal of this decision to the State Supreme Court. Would that court even consider taking it? Unknown. The abutter has filed papers to appeal the most recent decision in favor of Sea Pines and the Brewster Conservation Commission concerning the kayak racks and their alleged impact on the dunes.

Put the Annual Meeting on your calendar - it's Sunday, May 27 (just 2 weeks from today!) at 9:30am in the Brewster Ladies Library auditorium.

If you would like to receive emailed copies of the approved FMB minutes, please email me your request. To subscribe, your email address must be listed in the Sea Pines Homeowner Directory - no exceptions.

May 15 marks the date when boats can be stored on the grass across from the Clubhouse parking lot. Please remember to register your boats with the Boating Committee (Bob Wiesel.) Unregistered boats may be towed. Remember that all boats and trailers must be removed from this area by October 15.

Let me know if you have comments on this newsletter or thoughts on future ones or the Sea Pines web site. Soon it will be SUMMER at Sea Pines!

Sincerely,

19 Landing Lane
