Sea Pines Homeowners Association Newsletter

January 25, 2014

Dear Neighbors,

It's cold. It's snowy. It's windy. It's QUIET. In other words, it's a typical Cape Cod winter at Sea Pines. 'nuff said.

After a glitch caused a 7 week delay, bank financing for the siding project has been obtained and the project will start on Monday (Jan 27) on Knoll Lane followed by Overlook. Assuming schedules are met, Grove would start in September.

This is a great time to replace windows if you are on a to-be-resided street. The contractor has created a program to do this work if you choose to sign up for it. The details are on the Sea Pines web site.

The October newsletter mentioned an issue potentially affecting the Sesuit Harbor Café in Dennis. I'm happy to report that the issue has been resolved and the Café will not be closing. I had not been happy at the thought of losing my favorite lobster roll and French fry joint.

Owners wishing to moor their boats off Sea Pines beach must register their boat and mooring position with Bob Wiesel by February 15. Go to the Sea Pines web site for further information.

Due to an increasing risk of personal injury caused by persistently improperly extinguished and cleaned up beach fires and of fires in the dunes, it has been decided that beach fires will no longer be permitted. If you see a fire on Sea Pines beach, please report it to the police or fire department. There is a fine up to $250 for each beach fire incident which can be traced back to a Sea Pines resident.

The approved minutes of the previous FMB meeting are always posted on the Clubhouse bulletin board. Please note that minutes are approved at the next month's FMB meeting, so minutes of the current meeting are not posted until after the following meeting. If you would like these minutes emailed to you, please email me your name, Sea Pines address and email address. To be added to the minutes email list, your email address must be the same as the one published for you in the current Sea Pines homeowner directory. Remember to update your email with Mercantile if it changes!

Also know that you can arrange auto-debit from your bank account of your condo fees with Mercantile. This is an advantage if you sometimes forget to send in the payment coupon and check or are getting sticker shock from the cost of postage these days (which has just gone up again!) You can even set up and use auto-debit without a computer. I use auto-debit for almost all regular debits these days, so I never have to worry about being late with a payment or missing an emailed payment due notice which gets blocked by Comcast for some reason. Contact Mercantile for details of auto-debit. It is a simple process and saves Sea Pines money since we don't have to print and mail payment coupons to you.

The next FMB is Saturday, March 29 at 8:30am in the Clubhouse. Click on the web site's "events" link to see the current schedule.

Sincerely,

Christopher Wroten
