Dear Neighbors:

Although "Brewster in Bloom" wasn't to happen until the following week, you would never know it on April 24! The daffodils and forsythia were spectacular - vivid sunshine yellow to match the day. Spring at Sea Pines the best!

We didn't waste the day at the FMB meeting. Spring cleanup is proceeding well. Part of the fresh look will be a hidden 6 foot black vinyl fence on the East side of Sea Pines from the beach grass up approximately 160 feet. At this point, it will be 6 ft. cedar fencing for 140 feet because it is visible.

We have a beautiful painted sign at the guardhouse which says "No Trespassing, No Soliciting". It was agreed that we should go back to the original wording "Private Property" and then "No Soliciting".

More substantially, we have noticed a marked increase in termite infestation. Please notify Mercantile Property Management if you see signs around your unit. Rats have been in an area where bird seed was stored. Please bring in your seed from garages and sheds. Spring is the season to stop feeding wild birds.

The cable TV installation in Phase I is offensive and shoddy in the eyes of some owners. Mercantile Property Management will call Continental Cable and have the company work with our Grounds and Maintenance Committee on insuring a proper installation is accomplished.

The painters are on site now and, with a break in the weather, they should be able to work straight through. Work on waterproofing the chimneys has started.

We did a reasonable amount of work for a 45 minute FMB meeting. The FMB, the various committees and Mercantile seem to be working well together.

Occasionally there are some mishaps. A working nomination document was copied and sent as the final one. Enclosed is the correct nomination list for 1994-1996.

See you at the annual meeting.

Regards,

Jim Fowler, Chairman FMB
